COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Meaningful change occurs when people with diverse perspectives and resources unite to explore new ideas and engage in critical dialogue. Krasl Art Center’s twin city communities of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor are vibrant destinations that share a commitment to transformation through arts and culture. KAC’s community projects strive to foster this transformation from innovative partnerships to community-wide exhibitions.

ART & WELLNESS POP-UP

Together, Krasl Art Center (KAC) and Corewell Health Lakeland’s Population Health Department are developing an Art & Wellness Pop-Up. Utilizing KAC’s expertise in art and SHL/PH’s expertise in resiliency-building skills, the Pop-Up is intended to increase understanding of mental health, destigmatize mental illness, and invite community members to participate in hands-on, arts-based activities that provide opportunities to practice and build resiliency skills.

COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITIONS AT THE BOX FACTORY FOR THE ARTS

Each year, Berrien RESA, The Box Factory for the Arts, and Krasl Art Center work together to present two amazing community art exhibitions. These exhibitions, one for elementary students and one for middle and high school, allow young local artists to exhibit their artwork in a professional venue viewed by hundreds of people in our communities.
