Krasl Art Center’s mission is to inspire meaningful change and strengthen community through the visual arts. KAC’s artist opportunities are diverse and layered, and support this mission. We celebrate and support artists at all stages of their career, fostering meaningful relationships through the creation, exploration, and patronage of art. We welcome artist applications in the following areas:


Krasl Art Center displays contemporary art indoors and out year-round. We value experimentation, innovation, excellence, timeliness and relevance. In KAC’s galleries, guests discover a safe place to experience new ideas and new media, and engage in challenging and provocative dialogue. 

The Galleries: If you are an artist or curator with an exhibition concept or body of work that meets these values, please submit a proposal to Artists and curators are encouraged to review the gallery plan to ensure proposals are scaled appropriately. 

The Lab: Participants must propose an art installation to fit within a 367 square-foot gallery space by completing our online Exhibition Proposal Form by clicking here. Artists are encouraged to review the gallery plan to ensure proposals are scaled appropriately.

Outdoors: Please submit a proposal to Public artists and sculptors are encouraged to review KAC’s Public Art Map to learn more about sites and placements.

Exhibition proposals are reviewed on an ongoing basis and held for 2 years. Due to the quantity received, we will contact you only in the event of an exhibition opportunity.


The Shop features decorative and functional artwork handcrafted by local and regional artists. This specially curated selection supports KAC’s mission with items relevant to our community, collection, and current exhibitions. We value excellence, innovation, and experimentation in artist-made goods – including fine art, wearables, housewares, jewelry, paper products, and more. KAC’s Art Markets welcome artists to sell their artwork on our Oval Lawn 4 Saturdays in the summer and the first Saturday in November. Learn more on our webpage here, and apply for the 2023 season by clicking here.


In honor of Pride Month, Krasl Art Center (KAC) seeks proposals from LGBTQIA+ artists for a dynamic window installation to remain on view for 12 months. 

KAC is a vibrant regional art center and an accredited art museum. Located in Southwest Michigan, adjacent to Benton Harbor, and just 90 miles from Chicago, KAC’s mission is to ‘Inspire Meaningful Change and Strengthen Community through the Visual Arts. KAC strives to share this mission in multiple ways onsite and throughout the community. 

The Pride Window project is a high-impact display that utilizes a north-facing window on KAC’s building to capture the attention of the frequent pedestrian and vehicular traffic along Lake Boulevard – a prominent thoroughfare from the downtown and lakefront areas.
