FACULTY

School and Community Programs Coordinator

The School and Community Programs Coordinator is a new position at Krasl Art Center (KAC) focused on advancing the organization’s mission to “inspire meaningful change and strengthen community through the visual arts” and strategic goal “to use the visual arts as a fulcrum for social transformation.” Serving as a liaison between schools, community organizations and KAC, the School and Community Programs Coordinator will identify potential new community partners and develop innovative, enriching and educational art programs for youth in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. In addition to developing new programs, the School and Community Programs Coordinator will manage, evaluate, and maintain existing programs including Understanding Art tours, the Community Student Art Exhibition, Family Days and Family Nights.

The ideal candidate for this position is a self-motivated advocate for the visual arts, who will enthusiastically engage new and existing community partners and is passionate about bringing diverse audiences together.

Guest Services Specialist

The Krasl Art Center Guest Services Associate ensures that all guests to the KAC are welcomed and valued, enjoy their experience, and receive the information they need to ensure a successful visit and return. Associates keep abreast of KAC events, programs and classes, receive special training on exhibitions in the galleries, administer gift shop, membership and ticket sales, and take class registrations. Associates interact with guests, staff, and volunteers in person and on the phone. Associates provide security to the KAC building, artworks and guests.

Interpretation and Engagement Coordinator

The Interpretation and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for comprehensively engaging guests at the Krasl Art Center in a manner that is creative, inviting and meaningful. This will be accomplished through interpretive content and programs made available indoors, outdoors and online; dynamic gallery tours, welcoming guest services, and mindfully selected artist-made merchandise in the gift shop. The Interpretation and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing gallery content, leading the KAC docent program, training forward facing staff and volunteers, providing collections management, and curatorial assistance.
