The Krasl Art Fair is held the second weekend in July each year.

2023 Event Dates & Hours:

  • Saturday, July 8, 10 am* – 6 pm
  • Sunday, July 9, 10 am – 5 pm
  • Hours are for both Artists Booths & Krasl Art Center

Admission to the art fair supports year-round access to the arts. $5 (suggested) admission; presale tickets available May 1, 2023.

Block Party – Friday, July 7, 5 pm – 10 pm

*Collectors’ Experience preview hour Saturday 9 am – 10 am

GETTING HERE

LOCATION

The event is held outdoors in Lake Bluff Park overlooking Lake Michigan.

Lake Bluff Park address: 200 – 800 Lake Boulevard, St. Joseph, MI 49085

Krasl Art Center address: 707 Lake Boulevard, St. Joseph, MI 49085

ENTRANCES

Guest check-in areas are located along Lake Boulevard at the intersections of Ship, Broad, Market, and Park Streets.

PARKING 

Guests are encouraged to park in city parking lots while attending this year’s event. Please refer to an Art Fair Specific version of the online City of St. Joseph Parking Guide and a map of downtown.

East-to-west street parking will be blocked off at State Street from Park Street to Ship Street.

BIKING TO THE EVENT

Biking to the Art Fair is encouraged. Bike parking is located along the alley as well as along Pearl Street and Market Street. Biking is prohibited within Lake Bluff Park during Art Fair hours.


EVENT RULES

PETS

Pets are not allowed in gated areas of Lake Bluff Park during the Art Fair. This policy protects pets, artworks, and two-legged guests. 

Pets are allowed to walk with their human companions along Lake Boulevard and the alleyway.

There are no pet-sitting services planned at this time. Service animals are always welcome.

BEACH ACCESS

Pedestrians are able to access Silver Beach by way of the staircase and ramp at Broad Street and via the ramp at Ship Street during Art Fair hours. 

PROHIBITED ITEMS

Weapons of all kinds are prohibited. 

Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, scooters, hoverboards, smoking, drones, large signs, and placards that may endanger or inconvenience the public are prohibited within the event.

PHOTO POLICY

While photography is permitted, artists do have the right to request no photographs be taken of their artwork without expressed consent. Always ask permission from the artist before attempting to photograph near or within a booth. 

By attending the event, you are granting permission for Krasl Art Center staff to photograph you and be used in promotional materials, including but not limited to social media, print newsletters, and advertisements.

We are very excited to unveil this year’s artwork, “The Way I See It” by Alann Jordan, a former Michigander who now travels between Indiana and Florida as a full-time artist.

Come for the art, and stay for the community! Krasl Art Center is free and open to the public during Art Fair hours. Explore two fantastic exhibitions on view in The Gallery and The Lab, or relax in The Lounge with air conditioning and comfortable seating. Outdoors on Krasl Art Center’s grounds, discover local artists and artworks for sale, and participate in free art making activities.

SAFETY & AMENITIES

FIRST AID

First aid is located at the corner of Broad Street & Lake Boulevard. Basic first aid needs may be met at this tent. In the event of an emergency, dial 911.

RESTROOMS

Portable facilities are located outside of the event grounds along Lake Bluff Park. Krasl Art Center is open with restroom access. Public restrooms are also available at the staircase at Broad Street leading to Silver Beach Park.

ADA & ACCESSIBILITY

The Art Fair is accessible. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come-first-served basis inside Krasl Art Center. Handicapped parking is located in a city parking lot located at Broad Street & Lake Boulevard. The lot is accessible through the alley with handicapped cards or plates.

LOST AND FOUND

Lost and Found is located inside Krasl Art Center, 269.983.0271.

LOST PEOPLE

Lost people are encouraged to wait in Krasl Art Center’s lobby, (269.983.0271). For assistance in locating your lost person, contact any uniformed City of St. Joseph officer or a Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff volunteer.

ART FAIR MERCHANDISE

Art Fair Merchandise will be available during the event. Locations will be present along Lake Boulevard and feature items like commemorative bags and t-shirts.


ATM/CREDIT CARDS

Many artists accept credit card payments. ATMs are located in downtown St. Joseph on Ship Street & Broad Street and inside St. Joe Today.
