FREE

THURSDAYS AT 4 PM IN AUGUST

Krasl Art Center (KAC) is thrilled to host musicians from the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra (SMSO) for a free outdoor concert series!

KAC’s benefactors, Olga & George Krasl , wanted to “make life more worthwhile”. The George Krasl Memorial Concert (GKMC) Fund is one more way their legacy continues to give back to our community.

The finale toKAC’s SMSO Summer Pop-Up Garden Concerts is funded in part by the 2021 GKMC Fund and combines the visual and musical arts on Thursday, August 26 with the Martin Wind Duo. Kassia and Sam Martin’s program explores the connections between music and storytelling. They will play pieces inspired by stories, from mythology, opera, and movies – some of which will include narration along with the music. Pieces include Syrinx by Claude Debussy, The Pied Piper of Harlem by Adolphus Hailstork, and Story Hour by Philip Parker.

Enjoy different musical selections inspired by opera, mythology, pop culture, storytelling, and collaboration. Bring a lawn chair and picnic basket to this sunny, free series held among beautiful artworks on Krasl Art Center’s campus. Donations are appreciated and support the 2021 Berrien County Arts Challenge.
