Redux /rēˈdəks/ adj.

  1. brought back; revived.

In fall 2019, KAC began exploring the theme of resiliency through art in multiple ways. This theme continued into KAC’s annual Members’ Show as local and regional artists shared their own definitions of resilience alongside their work. A mere two years stood between the 2019 and 2021 exhibitions, but a global pandemic emphasized the importance of resiliency each and every day.

For the winter 2021 exhibition, KAC was excited to announce a Members’ Show that welcomed members of Krasl Art Center to present their work in response to this shared theme. Resiliency Redux reexamined the relevance of art in contributing to wellness – in our individual lives and also at work, in family groups, and as a society. Not just a redo, Resiliency Redux asked both artists and visitors alike to consider how our definitions of resiliency have changed since 2019 and imagine what revival looks like for a resilient community.

Artists were invited to submit one new artwork of their making addressing the exhibition theme. All media, styles, and skill sets were accepted. Collaborative efforts were encouraged and performance pieces were also to be considered.
