February 27, 2019 at Lake Michigan College, 9 AM – 5 PM
Free & Open to the Public
Watch as the jurors – a panel of professional artists and art experts – select the artists for the 2019 show. Jurors review the more than 900 artists who submit their work in hopes of being invited to be a 2019 Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff artist.
Never been to a Jury Day? This is how it works:
Format: 5 jurors view 5 slides on projection screens at a time. Four of the slides represent the applying artist’s work, and one is a picture of their booth. Volunteers read the artist’s statement and description, the jurors’ score and the next artist is displayed. All work is anonymous. Only jurors may ask questions.
The audience is free to come and go. Jury introductions and rules of the jury begin promptly at 9AM. Jurors take a one hour break close to noon. Jurors review artists by category (there are 11 this year.) An artist must be “juried in” to participate in the KAF. Note: This is not an opportunity for artists and the public to interact with the jury.
