Indianapolis-based artist Casey Roberts uses a photographic process called cyanotype to create ethereal images of wildlife and landscapes. This civil war-era process gives a vibrant blue image when exposed to sunlight and developed. Roberts paints with this light-sensitive medium directly on paper or canvas. With everyday items such as baking soda\, bleach\, and peroxide\, he achieves a range of colors and textures through controlled chemical reactions. This process is repeated\, adding many layers until the image is fully realized\, often finishing with watercolor painting or a collage element. Discover the power and lessons to be learned from facial expressions\, gestures\, body postures\, and bodies in motion with Mendel Center Director Mike Nadolski. \nMike Nadolski is Executive Director of The Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College\, Director of The Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan Speaker Series\, and owner of the Citadel Dance Center building with his wife\, Sarah. Mike blends a business and arts management background with more than 40 years of improvisational theater experience and a passion for creating collaborative arts opportunities in southwest Michigan. But they have a concrete image of everything.“ says photographer Daniela Horníčková\, who led blind children from the Prague Jaroslav Ježek School to capture their surroundings on still cameras. The children took pictures at school\, on field trips\, at home or the dormitory mostly focusing on things they knew by touch.
