Every student has a different set of needs, interests, skills, and learning styles. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, programs are designed to be adaptable and responsive to the situation, and provide opportunities for self-expression and storytelling.

Registration opens August 9 and closes September 6, 2021.

Classes begin the week of September 13.

Krasl Art Center’s 12–week youth courses provide a safe, equitable, friendly, and fun learning experience for every student! Youth classes are scheduled during and after public school hours, tuition is $275 ($180 for KAC Members), and scholarships are available. Class code, title, date, and teaching artist are included below — learn more and register for youth classes or apply for a scholarship at krasl.org/education/youth/classes/

There are no classes November 22–28.

All courses are in-person with limited studio capacities. Enrolled students will receive COVID policy updates before classes begin. Krasl Art Center will follow current health guidelines in September — masks are currently required in KAC studios.

Explore nature and the arts at Krasl Art Center (KAC)! Multiple studios are ready to welcome students ages 5 – 12 back for in person art classes after a year-long hiatus. For students (and parents) searching for longer summertime artmaking programs, KAC offers five, 8-week classes and one single-day workshop for students age 7 – 12, and one class for teens age 13 – 18!

Indoor studio classes will have a 4-student cap, and new outdoor classes a 6-student cap, all created with student safety in mind.

The new outdoor studio is part of KAC’s East Garden, dedicated in memory of Lupe Hopp and underwritten by Horizon Bank. The site is dedicated to interactive sculpture. This year, KAC combined the creativity and interaction of East Garden artist installations with the pragmatic need for an outdoor summer studio. Prismatic Hope, by local artist Andy Sawyer, is the colorful result. Sawyer’s design includes artist work stations for six (6) artists and one (1) instructor – all colorfully delineated, spaced and shielded to allow for safe artmaking.

Artlab artist Jennifer Zona creates large-scale weavings out of fabric, wool, and a variety of upcycled materials. Learn about the process of dying wool and create your own mini weaving project using pre-dyed wool and other supplies provided.

*KAC virtual courses are taught on Google Classroom with scheduled art supply pickup dates. Students must create a Google account to participate. After registration, students will receive an email with a class code and instructions.
