DESCRIPTION:Andy Sweet’s South Beach\nApril 15 – June 04\, 2023\n  \nIn the late 1970s\, Miami native Andy Sweet began photographing the elderly Jewish population of South Beach. In his early 20s at the time\, Sweet was drawn to this community that had been a part of his childhood memories. The photos capture an often-overlooked yet essential moment in Miami’s cultural heritage\, where eccentricity\, fun\, glamor\, and kitsch intertwine in celebratory images. Recently\, an exhibit featuring Sweet’s work drew a diverse crowd\, sparking conversations about how the past meets the present in Miami’s nightlife—everything from historic ballrooms to modern live casinos not on gamstop that now attract visitors seeking unique\, unrestricted gaming experiences. The 2023 event\, presented by 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services\, welcomes 172 artists from around the country to Southwest Michigan on July 8 and 9\, 2023\, and has been ranked as one of the top fairs for artists in the country. The commemorative design is incorporated into the atmosphere and branding of the weekend-long event. \nThe commemorative design is a custom artwork commissioned by KAC that is used to create merchandise\, the Collectors’ Experience Pin\, and the theme for the July event. This year’s artist is Alann Boatright\, a former Michigander who now travels between Indiana and Florida as a full-time artist. For a preview of the custom painting Alann has created for the 2023 Art Fair\, visit him online at ironplanetstudios.com. \nIn addition to networking\, free headshots\, and the commemorative design unveiling\, guests will have first access to 2023 Art Fair merchandise and be able to purchase Collectors’ Experience packages and their tickets to the July event. \nAdmission to the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff supports year-round access to the arts.
