Fable The Poet is a nationally touring artist highly noted for his work with the youth; spreading Mental Health Awareness using his own stories to engage the audience\, and spread the message: “At times\, we all feel fragile. We are all paper boats entertaining the waves of life.” Jon Hook is a regenerative artist from LaPorte\, IN\, who works with the environment and exploring the mysteries of the natural world. Turner will share the mission of this model\, how it is aiding individuals and communIties alike\, and why it is of critical importance to Berrien County.   \n6 – 8 PM – Exhibition Party \nExplore this exciting new exhibition in the KAC galleries and meet some of the artists in the show. Featuring a cash bar\, live music\, and small bites by Bistro on the Boulevard. \n7 PM – Performance by Christina E. Fontenelle \nChristina E. Fontenelle is an Afro-Latina psychotherapist and visual artist who works from an Expressive Arts multi-modal approach specializing in Art & Dance/Movement Therapy. Fontenelle will provide a live\, movement-based performance in response to the theme of resiliency as part of this opening night event \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:$35 for members/ $45 for non-members \nALL MATERIALS INCLUDED \nA silverpoint drawing is made by dragging silver wire across a primed surface such as gessoboard. This process is ideal for creating detailed\, sensitive drawings as can be seen in the work of Renaissance artists Albrecht Durer and Leonardo DaVinci. Artist Kerry Binnington will give a brief introduction to the history of silverpoint\, demonstrate the process of hatching and crosshatching\, and help students create their own silverpoint drawings. Open to intermediate and advanced drawing students.
