Let our team of 300+ volunteers guide you through all the Art Fair has to offer\, and consider supporting the professional artists by making a purchase that will be cherished for years to come! \nThe annual event predates Krasl Art Center (KAC) and is where our benefactress\, Olga Krasl\, developed a love for the artist community in Southwest Michigan. What started as a clothesline art fair in a local park has grown to be one of the top fairs in the U.S.\, drawing talented artists from across the country to our beautiful community.

DESCRIPTION:Opening this August\, Intervals of Mark and Matter brings together the work of KC Crow Maddox\, Karen Dana Cohen\, Evan Mazzelan\, Amelia Mendelsohn\, Ivan Montoya\, Thương Hoài Trần\, and Antonio Scott Nichols. These artists approach painting as a site of translation where material\, image\, and lived experience converge. Drawing from personal and cultural narratives\, the artists engage themes such as family\, mythology\, migration\, and identity to construct works that feel both intimate and expansive. Across the exhibition\, painting emerges as a living and expansive practice: one that does not simply depict\, but questions\, experiments\, and reaches outward.\n\nOpening in the Project Space\, Krasl Art Center presents a new installation by Bella Kiser\, expanding her exploration of soft architecture. Working within fiber\, sculpture\, installation\, performance\, and sound\, Kiser builds environments that consider how ideas of home and identity are shaped through experience and space.\n\nJoin us for the Preview Party on Friday\, August 14\, from 6–8 PM.

SUMMARY:Artist Talk with Bella Kiser
DESCRIPTION:Opening August 15 in Project Space\, “BALIKBAYAN Box” by Bella Kiser is an intimate installation about family and the things we carry with us across distance. \nA balikbayan box is a care package sent home to the Philippines by Filipinos living abroad. For Kiser\, these boxes held everything from work clothes and yellowing books to art supplies\, rice\, bibles\, and whatever her family might want or need. In this exhibition\, the box becomes a way of thinking about what we inherit from our loved ones and what we carry forward. \nThe installation centers on four photographs documenting the last physical skill Kiser learned from her Lola passed away: how to gut\, descale\, and cook a whole fish. Alongside fiber\, sound\, and interactive sculpture\, “Balikbayan Box” creates a space where family histories\, cultural connection\, loss\, and care come together. \nVisitors are invited to take their shoes off\, lie on the large balikbayan box\, listen to soundscape\, and interact with smaller boxes throughout the installation. \nJoin us on Saturday\, August 15\, from 12 – 1 PM for an artist talk at Krasl with Bella Kiser.
