SUMMARY:ARTISTS IN DIALOGUE: NATHANIEL STERN & SASHA STILES
DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 18\, 10 AM - 12 PM\n\nPre-registered Event; free\nArtists Nathaniel Stern and Sasha Stiles both consider a posthuman world as part of their artistic process. From fossilized e-waste to AI collaborations\, cell phone planters to artworks based in binary code\, their explorations are critical yet optimistic\, imaginative and forward-thinking while still being connected to past and present technologies.  \nJoin them in an in-depth dialogue about why they work the way they do\, the intersections between their art\, and upcoming collaborations. Stern will be offering a free “air drop” of one of his NFTs related to his concurrent exhibition\, The World After Us\, for anyone who comes to this event and has (or signs up for) a Tezos crypto wallet (the artist recommends Kukai\, but any one will do). \nPhoto: Artists Sasha Stiles (left) and Nathaniel Stern (right) with fellow artist Sarah Ridgley (middle) at Art Basel Miami\, December 2022.

SUMMARY:Registration Deadline – Krasl Art Center Adult/Teen Class Fall ‘21
DESCRIPTION:Learn a new art form\, enhance your resiliency skills\, or create a new date night with an art class at Krasl Art Center. \n\nRegistration opens August 9 and closes September 6*\, 2021.  \n\nClasses begin the week of September 13. \n\nThe creative process is messy and unpredictable\, and that’s what KAC’s teaching artists love about it! Instead of providing a step-by-step formula that leads to a predetermined outcome\, instructors provide guidance and structured exploration through the elements and principles of art.  \n\nMeeting September 13 – November 5\, these 4 and 8-week Adult/Teen courses connect students in and beyond the classroom by engaging with art history and contemporary topics. Enrolled students will have the opportunity to sign up for 4-week extension classes running November 15 – December 10\, 2021. \n\nThere are no classes November 22–28. \n\nLearn more about adult/teen classes and scholarship opportunities at krasl.org/education/adult/classes/ \n\nAll courses are in-person with limited studio capacities. Enrolled students will receive COVID policy updates before classes begin. Krasl Art Center will follow current health guidelines in September — masks are currently required in KAC studios. \n\nADULT/TEEN CLASSES \nA.P.1: WATERCOLOR FLOWERS \n– – TUES. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 14 – NOV. 2 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members) \n– – Teaching Artist: Kerry Binnington \n\nA.P.2: INTRODUCTION TO ACRYLICS \n– – TUES. 1–3:30 PM | SEPT. 14 – NOV. 2 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members) \n– – Teaching Artist: Nathan Margoni \n\nA.P.3: INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING \n– – THURS. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 16 – NOV. 4 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|MATERIALS FEE: $35 \n– – Teaching Artist: Lea Bult \n\nA.PH.1: DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY TECH \n– – THURS. 6–8:30 PM | SEPT. 16 – NOV. 4 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC members) \n– – BRING YOUR OWN DSLR CAMERA \n– – Teaching Artist: Tim Schroeder \n\nA.D.1: DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS \n– – TUES. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 14–NOV. 2 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|MATERIALS FEE: $15 \n– – Teaching Artist: Lea Bult \n\nA.D.2: INTRODUCTION TO FIGURE DRAWING (4 WEEK CLASS) \n– – MON. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 13–OCT. 4 \n– – TUITION: $80  ($70 for KAC Members)|MODEL FEE: $25 \n– – Teaching Artist: Lea Bult \n\n*A.MM.1: MIXED MEDIA TECHNIQUES (4 WEEK CLASS) \n– – MON. 6:30–9 PM | OCT. 11 – NOV. 1 \n– – REGISTRATION DEADLINE: OCT. 4 \n– – TUITION: $80  ($70 for KAC Members)|MATERIALS FEE: $25 \n– – Teaching Artist: Lea Bult \n\nA.D.3: INTERMEDIATE DRAWING AND PAINTING: ASK THE COACH! \n– – MON. 1–3:30 PM | SEPT. 13 – NOV. 1 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC members) \n– – Teaching Artist: David Baker \n\nA.D.4: INDEPENDENT STUDY & PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT \n– – THURS. 1–3:30 PM | SEPT. 16 – NOV. 4 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members) \n– – Teaching Artist: Lea Bult \n\nA.J.1: INTRODUCTION TO METALSMITHING: MATCHING SET OF RINGS & EARRINGS \n– – TUES. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 14 – NOV. 2 \n– – TUITION: $200 ($175 for KAC Members)|MATERIALS FEE: $75 \n– – Teaching Artist: Tabitha Gulino \n\nA.S.1: BEGINNING WOODCARVING (6 STUDENT MAX) \n– – THURS. 6–8:30 PM | SEPT. 16 – NOV. 11 (NO CLASS OCT. 14) \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|MATERIALS FEE: $35 \n– – Teaching Artist: John DeLapa \n\nA.C.1: INTRODUCTION TO CERAMICS \n– – TUES. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 14 – NOV. 2 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|CLAY: $25 PER BAG \n– – Teaching Artist: Jennifer Zona \n\nA.C.2: INTRODUCTION TO WHEELTHROWING \n– – MON. 6:30–9 PM | SEPT. 20 – NOV. 8 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|CLAY: $25 PER BAG \n– – Teaching Artist: Paola Gracida \n\nA.C.3: DAYTIME WHEELTHROWING \n– – THURS. 10 AM–12:30 PM | SEPT. 16 – NOV. 4 \n– – TUITION: $160 ($150 for KAC Members)|CLAY: $25 PER BAG \n– – Teaching Artist: Jon Hook
